Jerry Lenz reflects on the growth of Mighty Sound Kids

This is a ministry directed project and not a business endeavor. Sales of physical CDs and downloads are sparse to put it kindly and I am reminded daily that Kingdom building and marketing schemes most often run along different paths. The Lord has blessed me with the ability to grow my radio entertainment marketing and that extra income fuels my passion for Mighty Sound Kids to reach children and families all over the globe.

It is amazing to watch daily where this ministry is reaching—countries I’ve never even heard of. In fact, I had to look up the Northern Mariana Islands today. Each time I discover a new country I read about the people and culture and give thanks to God for this journey.

YouTube is the engine of discovery for the Mighty Sound Kids songs and several people each day will link from a MSK video to the MSK website which was launched in May of this year. Facebook was added about the same time and the MSK Facebook page has over 500 followers, most in Vietnam and the Philippines.

In the case of Facebook I can see the young mothers’ photos and their families. Further I am amazed at the number of Muslim mothers (they proclaim their faith on their Facebook page) that like and follow Mighty Sound Kids. For me, I see the Spirit of God moving on hearts and families and that is something you cannot quantify on a business report.

The five new songs have brought in new audiences too in some amazing places. Iraq is moving up fast at a time of persecution for Christians in that country. At the bottom of this article is a report from today of YouTube activity for all Mighty Sound Kids videos by location.

In summary, I am thankful to God for reawakening this music ministry in 2016. From a humble start as a Sunday school teacher 30 years ago, at The Church On The Way, I am reminded of my first project or vision for Christian children’s music. It was called Four Heavensakes & Friends (characters singing the songs). Well, today, it is the same heart behind Mighty Sound Kids. When I wrote out the original vision, the essence was, “Music and Ministry for a Multitude.” I am eternally grateful for each new family touched by the music and my prayer is that children receive Jesus as their Savior, are filled with the Holy Spirit and begin ministering the Love of God to others.

Jesus is Lord over Belarus

jesus-is-lord-over-belarusWe salute the wonderful children and families of Belarus, knowing that Jesus is Lord over that nation. Mighty Sound Kids is delighted to play a small part in that Belarus is one of the top ten countries viewing the Mighty Sound Kids videos on YouTube. In fact, the videos have been viewed over 12,800 times in Belarus as of today.

Seeing all this activity caused us to look further into Christianity in Belarus. Amazingly the evangelical Christians account for less than one percent of the population. There is persecution of Christians in Belarus according to articles we have discovered. Belarus experienced revival during the 1990s, but in 2002 the government imposed new restrictions on religion even though the constitution protects freedom of religion. The restrictions include requiring churches to register, an attempt to hinder their growth. Even registered churches must constantly renew permission to meet.

Nonetheless, Jesus is Lord over Belarus and God is in control. Pray for this country and its people that they may be blessed with the freedom that only Jesus can bring them. More Lord for Belarus! May His Love rule and reign.

Ordinary becomes Extraordinary

ordinary-becomes-extraordinaryTake a moment to think about the shepherds tending their flocks in the field when God suddenly chooses them to announce His greatest gift to humanity, His Son Jesus. These are hard-working everyday men, hand-picked by God to witness the birth of His Son. Regular guys, not priests in the Temple, that were selected to have a role in God’s gift to mankind.

Although the Bible does not give us any details about their lives after being visited by Angels and instructed to travel to Bethlehem to witness the birth of Christ, it is safe to say that their lives were forever changed from ordinary to extraordinary.  Think about their return home to their families, sharing testimony of their experience and the miracles they lived and witnessed.

Let us all be open to God using our ordinary lives for His extraordinary purposes. Let’s show our children more this Christmas season than a simple retelling of The Christmas Story, and key in on the ordinary people mentioned to further encourage our children to be open to all that God desires to do in them and through them. Merry Christmas!

Mighty Sound Kids videos have been viewed over 300,000 times on YouTube

300000-shouts-of-praiseOne year ago we released the first Mighty Sound Kids video on YouTube, Jump for Jesus. We continued releasing videos from the first Mighty Sound Kids album as we completed them over a few months. Slowly, but surely, they started to catch on, reaching 1,000 views in 2016. We decided it was time to release more songs and produced the album, God Loves You.

The new album was released in November 2016 and we just completed producing the last video, Sunshine and Rainbows. The new album contains 5 new tracks and 5 performance tracks so kids can sing in their own voice. We encourage them to record the songs and make their own videos. We will even post them on our website, if you send them to us.

The mission of Mighty Sound Kids is a ministry dedicated to getting resources into the hands of children, families and ministries throughout the world—FREE of charge. YouTube has provided a way for us to reach beyond borders and that is very important to us.

As of today, December 15, 2016:

MIGHTY SOUND KIDS VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE HAVE BEEN VIEWED OVER 300,000 TIMES.

We are thankful and grateful to God for our followers that help us in this outreach effort. The momentum continues and, looking back, it was only 45 days ago, that we achieved 200,000 YouTube views (October 29, 2016). The climb from 1,000 views in June to 100,000 views was two months (August 18, 2016).

While we have seen the number of viewers snowball, the best part of this testimony is WHERE the videos are being viewed. The leading country for views is NOT the United States…it is Vietnam. In Vietnam, the Christians still face huge persecution. Learn more here

The top ten countries view Mighty Sound Kids videos include:

Vietnam, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Thailand, Georgia, Cambodia, Ukraine, Mexico and Russia. All praise and glory be to our Lord and King, Jesus. He is the Wonder of Wonderful.

Sunshine and Rainbows is a resource for helping children recognize that God is the Creator of all creation and to know that God loves them, and He uniquely created them. Let’s help our children to give thanks and praise to God every day.

We are excited to share that the people of Thailand have viewed the Mighty Sound Kids videos over 11,000 times. We are grateful that all viewers are helping us achieve our mission of supplying free children’s ministry resources to parents, teachers and children’s pastors.
